Before the BU-Lowell game this past weekend, Jack Parker was being interviewed by one the UML broadcasters during the pre-game. The broadcaster made a comment about how he was a bit surprised that in the history of HE, BU had only won the HE regular season title once. Jack's reply surprised the commentators, and probably many listeners. Coach Parker said how the regular season title has never really been a goal for his teams. He's always used the season to get a good spot for the HE tourney, and then winning the tourney is the goal. This since, up until recently, winning the tourney was the only sure-shot way of getting in the the NC$$, where winning THAT title is always the ultimate goal. - Steve HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
