Dave Erickson opined: >Please! Don't confuse Division I SCHOOLS with Division I HOCKEY -- Canisius, >UConn, Fairfield, Holy Cross, Iona and Villanova are Div. II-III when it >comes to hockey, and have a lo-o-o-ong way to go before they could even be >considered for D-I rating. I really don't want to start a long argument on this, but the fact of the matter is that these hockey teams ARE Division I. They must comply with the exact same rules as the other D-I programs, are classified as D-I by the NCAA, and -- if they would play enough games against other D-I opponents -- could be considered for the NCAA tournament. One can question the quality of these programs compared to say, Boston Univ. or Vermont or Ferris State, but not their "rating." Sorry, Dave. Try another nit. :-) --------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Stephen E.
