Canada defeated Russia 4-3 today in front of a virtually empty Conte
Forum "crowd". I had intended to watch this game on tape but this
tournament has playoff feel up here and thus working did not prevent me
from seeing the game, but I can't provide details because I was working
and therefore "distracted."

Canada never trailed in the game, but it was close throughout with Canada
having a 4-2 lead in the third narrowed to 4-3 by the Russians making for
a tense end to the game. Russia came close to scoring in the last
minute, and the game, to this too casual observer seemed even with good
scoring chances at both ends.

A sidelight for you college fans, Jason Botterill is hoping to win his
third consecutive gold medal in this tournament for Canada, a highly
unusual accomplishment.
