Both UAF and UAA allow beer sales in their respective arenas, but only in designated areas. Neither allow alcohol to be consumed in seating areas. UAF's beer "garden" offers limited seating and ice viewing. UAA's only show the game via closed circuit TV. On a related note, I recall seeing Bud ads on the scoreboard at the Sullivan Arena here in Anchorage. I don't remember exactly but I believe it was something like "Bud supports the Seawolves" or other. Is this kosher according to NCAA rules or is UAA a bit overzealous in its sponsorships? (I don't think the ad read "the official beer of the Seawolves"). Arena management has already gotten in trouble for playing "Three Blind Mice" over the PA to rib the refs. Seems the WCHA commish didn't share the humor... Mark P.S. The arena beer sucks, IMHO. Miller Lite is not worth leaving your seat over... Too bad they don't have college hockey in Seattle. Then you could probably get that espresso beer that you're required to drink in the bathroom, for obvious reasons... :) Mark J. Sonnier, C.P.M.
