In a game that looked like a college team playing a good high school team, UM soundly defeated Ferris 10-3. UM could have doubled that score, but you could see the team let up after the first period (5-0) and coast the rest of the way. Ferris replace it's goalie 6 and half minutes into the game. UM replaced its goalie in the third period. Shots on goal were 41 to 20 and it seemed like an even bigger margin than this. Luhning gets a game DQ, his second of the season, I believe. If this is so, he must sit out 2 games. FSU hit Malicke in goal pretty hard, Hilton game to his defense in his own quiet way and Luhning game to his defense in his own loud way. Morrison, Madden, and Muckalt each got 2 goals. Morrison also had 4 assists, Luhning had 3 assists, Madden and Sloan had 2 assists. In all, 12 players for UM scored points. FSU got hot for a couple of minutes in the second period and scored 2 goals and then scored one 2:02 into the third. The first period was a total show of power by UM, out-skating, out-stick handling, out-scoring, out-everything over FSU. I've never seen UM steal so many pucks off the sticks of opponents. Another highlight for UM was its three short-handed goals, one each by Hayes, Madden, and Legg. Madden's and Legg's were on the same power play. Oftentimes, when UM was shorthanded, you could not tell because they controlled the puck and the action.
