In the course of some correspondence with another Hockey-ler about
BU, the subject of how many losses and ties were expected in a season
was raised.

Therefore, I would like to hear from people as to how many losses and
ties in a season you consider as reasonable for an elite program like
BU, Minnesota, Maine, CC, Michigan, MSU, Clarkson, and the rest
(sorry for not mentioning them all).

I would also like to hear how many loses and ties would be reasonable
for programs currently trying to join the elite programs, and for
those programs trying to rebuild from the bottom and become
respectable programs.

I have also been thinking for the past several weeks alone some
similiar lines. Namely, would you rather have your team win
the NCAA Championship, but then have it fall on hard times for
several years and have to try and rebuild? Or would rather have the
team among the elite programs every year, but repeated fail to win
the NCAA Championship?

Basically, do you care more about winning the NCAA Championship, or
seeing a great team every year?

If you only wish to give brief answers, you should e-mail me
directly. However, if you wish to give thoughful and lengthy
replies, please post them to Hockey-L, so everyone can read it.
