I really enjoyed the thread on the "Greatest Games" people have ever seen. In fact I enjoyed it so much I thought I would try and compile the results based on everyone's posting on this. I found out very quickly that this wasn't going to be as easy as I thought. First, I had to do a "search" via some listserv commands that I had never done before and then I had to write out all the games mentioned and keep track on who voted for them. What a job. I'm not going to mention every game game that got 1 vote, but only the ones that got more then 1 vote. 1991 NCAA Finals NMU vs BU 6 votes 1995 NCAA Semis Maine vs Michigan 5 votes 1989 NCAA Finals Harvard vs Minnesota 3 votes 1994 2nd rnd Minnesota vs UML 3 votes 1993 NCAA Finals LSSU vs Maine 2 votes 15+ teams receiving 1 vote DISCLAIMER and how I did this. First, this was how I did my "search".... // job echo = no database search dd=rules //rules dd * search ("greatest ga" or "great gam" or "cca gam") in hockey-l since 96/01/01 index print /* I used the 3 different search phrases becasue I saw the topics come in differently and didn't want to miss any posts. I fear that I did miss some posts though as I saw at least one quote that I didn't have a copy of the original message. If someone could give me a better way to search for this please let me know as I want to learn how to do this better. Some people just said these 3 are my greatest games and others listed there games as a ranking. I just gave a vote to each of the games that you mentioned it whether you ranked it or not. Any omissions, or compiling of votes is purely my own fault! :) HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
