I don't know about nationally, but since Mike Sertich has taken over at UMD, from the 1982-83 season through last season, there were 33 ties, including 7 in 1990-91. In the 51 years of Minnesota Duluth hockey there were 66 total ties. But, they also used to play 8 or 10 games a season compared to 40. In total percentage of games ending in a tie, the stats are closer, but you can see a difference. 1930-95 66 ties 1451 games 4.549% 1930-82 33 ties 920 games 3.587% 1982-95 33 ties 531 games 6.215% I guess we need a statistician.
