With the uncertain state of the D-II tournament, there is a possibility
that in a few years some D-II programs will consider upgrading to
D-I. A few of the D-II programs opted to play in D-I several years ago
the first time that the D-II tournament went on hiatus. UAH was one
school that opted up the last time this possibility arose. I presume
that folks here will give strong consideration to opting up again in
the future should the D-II tourney go away.

Should several of the D-II teams join Division I hockey, the schools
would start looking for conference homes to play in. Some of the
folks in the UAH booster group have mentioned to me that they would
really like to see UAH join the CCHA. UAH played Ohio State last
year and perhaps this is a sign of more meetings in the future?

So, fellow hockey fans, what are your opinions of the possibility of
Division II schools to gain admittance into D-I conferences? Mankato
State is going D-I next year, but what are their chances for admittance
into the WCHA or CCHA?

UAH always seems to have open dates on their schedule during the year,
it would be neat to see some D-I teams visit Bama for a sort of winter
vacation from the chilling cold.
