There has been much debate in the last twenty four hours regarding Clarkson's "LET'S GO TECH!!" chant. As a senior here at Clarkson, I have been told by many that the chant originated when the school used to be called Clarkson College of Technology (CCT), until the early 1980's. Ever since people can remember, the hockey chant has always been LET'S GO TECH!!. Why change it now? I am not sure that just because the school is more than just engineering is a good reason to change the chant. The chant is almost a symbol of who is on the ice. There is a great deal of tradition here at Clarkson, and "LET'S GO TECH!!" has always been a part of it. Speaking from a student point of view, "LET'S GO TECH" is easier to say than Let's Go Knights anyways. I hope to return years from now to see Clarkson Hockey, and look forward to the students and others shouting "LET'S GO TECH!!" at that time.
