As a Gopher fan, let me weigh in on this (rather silly) dispute.  As
I interpreted John's post, he was saying something like this:
 
     We watched the game.  We didn't think Michigan played as well as
     they're able.  We think if they played up to their full abilities
     they'd dominate a series by some margin.
 
Fine.  Sounds reasonable to me.  It was a close game; if one team had
played better (or worse) the result would have been different.
 
Frankly, I didn't think the Gophers played up to their ability
either.  Ten games, with both teams playing to their potential, would
be a great series to watch.  And 7-3 either way wouldn't surprise me.
