Univ of Michigan handily beats Northern Michigan in the first game of the
Great Lakes Invitational tournament at Joe Louis arena in Detroit. Neither
team was especially sharp and some people made comments that the ice might be
slow. UM outshot NMU 35 to 13 and the game was never in doubt. As I am
writing right now, the second game of the tournament between Mich State and
Mich Tech is in the third period with Tech leading State by 2-1.
