Walt from MTU elaborated on exactly what I was thinking yesterday about the Travis fundraising....not that John H's UofM BlueLine club wasn't reputable, or any other Travis fundraiser was not completely on the up and up......... .....only that when a reputable event is taking place, it is tempting for the disreputable to try and "join in" while an event is taking place, or portray themselves as someone affiliated with the REAL fundraising effort. And the accountability of all the little events, to make sure that what was actually donated by the fans in the baskets/cans/whatever is what makes it to Boston; there is no way of doing that without receipts, official ID's, etc. No matter what, no amount of money can possibly make up for what this family has lost and will suffer. Here's hoping that the generousity of others in the hockey community can help them adjust to a completely new life together.
