In fact, Maine buried most of its other opponents in 1993. When it reached
the NCAA Championship, it defeated Michigan 4-3 in overtime and Lake Superior
State 5-4 (in a brilliant come-from-behind effort). Two days prior, the
Lakers defeated another Hockey East team (BU) 6-1 in the semifinal. The
the CCHA. BU was, I believe, second in Hockey East. Does that make the CCHA
the better league, top to bottom, in 1993?

BTW: Maine also beat the Lakers 3-2 in the Great Western Freeze-out that
year.
