Ok but why wouldn't a Minnesota boy want to play for the Home
team, to kids of Minnesota that is like playing for your Country, lots of
Minnesota boys dream of being on the Maroon and Gold..Also lots of us
love the Team I do (except when they Play the Sioux) and we take great
pride in it........ From a sports side what do we got to cheer for the
Twins aren't that great, the VIkes maynot make the playoffs and the
Gopher FOOTBALL isn't good at all. WHY not be fantical, Minnesota year in
Year out is allways in the Top Ten or close, and there isn't Many
Division one Programs that can say that.....Yeah we maynot be prefect but
Hockey is our sport, the natural talent pool in our area is pretty good
and why not use it......True there are 5 DIV I programs in the area vying
for the Minnesota products (UND,UMD,SCSU,UOFM,UOFM) but you will see that
the one that can go to the gophers do sign on because of the programs
success.
I am a hockey fan I Used to live close to Lowell Mass, I loved
watching Hockey East, I still check to see how The river rats (then the
Cheifs I liked that name better) I love the game and dont care if the
players are Canadian or American.........
I also think that The Wcha is a great league with
every weekend ending up being a hugh rivalry. UofM and UMD, UofM and
Wisc, UofM and SCSU, UofM and UND, hell that is half of the schedule
which can be emotional, and most of the time the players don't have much
trouble getting up for.
