The Bradley Center in Milwaukee has unveiled a new $4.5 million scoreboard "upgrade". The old, hard to see projection (?) screens have been replaced by 4 Sony screens of the same type used by the Rolling Stones and other big name performers on their tours. They new system premiered at the season opener of the Milwaukee Admirals IHL team this weekend (an 8-6 win over the Atlanta Knights). The new screens give superb pictures from any angle. The old system, as visitors to the BC will remember, was practically useless during hockey games because the screen was washed out by the bright lighting and glare from the ice. Obviously, a video screen is not a reason to attend or not attend a hockey game. However those who are coming to town for the College Hockey Showcase, Badger Hockey Showdown or future WCHA/NCAA tournaments don't have to dread squinting up at the scoreboard trying to see the replay (or commercials :-( ). -- Steve Manning Wisconsin '85 It's [nearly] the most wonderful time of the year ...
