The Bradley Center in Milwaukee has unveiled a new $4.5 million
scoreboard "upgrade". The old, hard to see projection (?) screens
have been replaced by 4 Sony screens of the same type used by the
Rolling Stones and other big name performers on their tours.
They new system premiered at the season opener of the Milwaukee
Admirals IHL team this weekend (an 8-6 win over the Atlanta Knights).

The new screens give superb pictures from any angle. The old system,
as visitors to the BC will remember, was practically useless during
hockey games because the screen was washed out by the bright lighting
and glare from the ice.

Obviously, a video screen is not a reason to attend or not attend
a hockey game. However those who are coming to town for the College
Hockey Showcase, Badger Hockey Showdown or future WCHA/NCAA tournaments
don't have to dread squinting up at the scoreboard trying to see the
replay (or commercials :-( ).
