Notre Dame joined the WCHA for the 1971-72 season, then left for the CCHA
for the 1981-82 season with Michigan State, Michigan and Michigan Tech.
Notre Dame competed as a club team for the 1983-84 season. ND returned to
the CCHA under Ric Schafer for the 1992-93 season.
