Andrew Wagner asks: > Was Notre Dame ever in the WCHA? Yes. Notre Dame played in the WCHA through the 1980-81 season when the Irish, along with several Michigan schools, jumped to the CCHA in an effort to lower travel expenses. I think (although I am very fuzzy on this) that the Michigan schools included Michigan, Michigan State and Michigan Tech. I also am not sure when Notre Dame began competition in the WCHA, but I do know that the modern era of Notre Dame hockey began in 1968 when the ACC was built across the street from the football stadium. - Pat - Patrick E.
