Just picked this up off the wire. Mike McPhee, the first hockey player from RPI to make it in the NHL (except Don Cutts, who didn't stick) has retired from the Dallas Stars. McPhee, who is 35, missed all of last season with a knee injury that he sustained in the pre-season. He played 12 seasons in the NHL, 9 with Montreal, and 3 with the Stars (Minnesota/Dallas), and is best remembered for being a hard-working gritty-type player. It was announced that he will be taking a job with the Dallas-based trading card firm Pinnacle Brands.
