I think I can add a little somethig to this conversation based on my own experiences with the Canadian Private School System. I went to an all-boys private school in the heart of Toronto called "Upper Canada College" (we called it "UCC"). We played in two leagues: a city league versus public schools (TDCAA), and a private school league (ISAA). In the ISAA, we played the following schools--Lakefield College, Ridley College, St. Andrews College, Trinity College, The Nicols School, and Appleby College. The ISAA was--and still is--and excellent league for collegiate talent. The Nicols school boasts Jason Zent (Wisc), Scott Thomas, Peter Ciavaglia (Har) and Les Kuntar (St. L) as recent graduates. Mike Brewer played at St. Andrews. UCC is no stranger to the NCAA as well. We have many past and current grads who played Division I hockey, including: Mike McKee, Andre Faust, Syl Apps (Princeton) Jason Cipolla, John Hockin, Matt Cummings (Yale) Andrew Will (Union) Brent Retter, Charlie Retter (Dartmouth) Ashlin Halfnight, Geordie Hyland, Myself (Harvard) I realize that this is not comparable to the list of graduates from other American prep schools who have gone on to play Division I, but UCC boasts a VERY high academic level while producing a superb hockey team year after year (UCC has won the Ontario High School Championship twice in the last four years, I believe). The ISAA is now scouted regulally for talent--quite a change from 5 years ago when our coach used to have to beg US College coaches to scout our games. Just thought I could add my Two Canadian Cents (which is 1.24 cents U.S.).
