Dr. Stephen Roth writes: <Yaeger is a notorious muck-raker with a passion for disregarding <facts that don't fit his thesis. He also has written about football (the <title, I believe, is *The 100 Yard Lie* or something close to that), <and there too managed to scrunch together a bunch of truths, <half-truths, and downright wro ng facts into a passionate <denunciation. I'm not going to argue with you about Don Yaeger, whose latest work, "Under the Golden Dome," was not the finest piece of journalism I've ever read (nor is the subject, Lou Holtz, beyond reproach; but this is a hockey list). But my friend, Rick Telander, wrote "The Hundred Yard Lie," and while I wish it had footnotes, it was a fine and sincere piece of work. Rick Telander should not be confused with Don Yaeger.
