Well the experiment with more challenging SOS contests has apparently been abandoned for the upcoming season. In fact the addition non-conferencee opponents are even weaker than my cynicism predicted. This may be the year when Union comes of age, schedule-wise. They now may be able to claim the title of toughest schedule in the Capital District, with some real games against the big boys like Maine and New Hampshire on their docket. RPI in contrast picks opponents who are basically Division II (Air Force) or most likely rebuilding (Northeastern, Bowling Green--but please, no disrespect intended.) Needless to say, the Engineers' sole means to make the tournament next hinges on their ECAC schedule--those two bids sure looks sweet now. Curious that the BC game last year wasn't a home and home. I was looking fo forward to seeing how the Engineers would fare at Conte against a BC squad that can only be improved from this year's disappointing group. Oh well--maybe they'll be some better seats available to the loyal season ticketholders. ******************************************************************************* Brian Morris RPI Engineers--1995 ECAC Champions [log in to unmask] Albany, NY--Host of the 1996 East Regional
