Many of you know that Washington Capitals and former Wisconsin
goalie Jim Carey is a contender for the NHL rookie of the
year award. What many of you may not know is that he's also
a top contender for the *A*HL's rookie of the year.

Before he was called up to Washington, he played about 55 games
with their farm team in Portland and accrued a league high
6 shutouts, twice anyone else.

I wish Carey luck. It would be truly remarkable for him to win
the rookie of the year award in two different leagues in the same
year. I'm sure either would make Wisconsin fans proud.
