It would be about the time to give this coveted prize to Coach Bob Gaudet.
He has come close before, but everyone seems to overlook his excellent
efforts. Brown was not expected to dominate the ECAC for as long as they
did, and Gaudet is very much responsible for the Brown reign. After all,
how many weeks of the season did the Bruins spend out of the top
slot...figure it out then think Gaudet for Coach of the Year.

Speaking of which, the Brown squad does not seem to get the recognition
they deserve. Just a few years ago, Brown was the worst team in the
country - BAR NONE! With all of Brown's accomplishments this season, the
ECAC honors bestowed upon Brown players were sparse: Parsons on the Honor
Role, Damian Prescott as Rookie of the Week (1/16), and Tony Martino as
Player of the Week (11/7/94). How many times did we see Martin St. Louis?
(3) St. Louis can definitely put the puck in the net, but for a guy who
plays half the ice, he sure did show up a lot on the Honor Role et al...

So let's be fair when it comes down to picking which Coach did the best
job this year.
