I think some of us may be confusing "Coach of the Year" with "Worst Prediction of the Year by So-Called Experts." The disparity between pre-season polls and a team's finish is a function of more than just the coach. I think we ought to look a little deeper when considering COTY nominees (though the results may end up the same, I admit). I consider, for instance, the apparent talent on the team based on what I've seen, discipline with which the team plays, ability to win close games, ability to win "big" games, etc. For the ECAC, I like Coach Gaudet from Brown. As has been mentioned, he seems to get the most from his team and manages to thoroughly frustrate opponents at times. Outside the ECAC, I immediately think of Sean Walsh, who seems to excel in all of the above categories. But, what do I know? Thanks, -Glenn
