BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY -- Freshman forward Dave Faulkner will carry a four-game point-streak into Friday's home playoff game. He has three goals and two assists for five points in the last four games with a plus/minus rating of plus four. FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior right wing Tim Christian has led the Bulldogs in scoring the past two years. For the second straight season he has led the team in goals with 18 and is first on the squad this year with six power play markers. UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO -- Sophomore left wing Matt McElwee and sophomore right wing Ryan Walls each have two game point-streaks heading into Friday's game at Michigan State. Walls had three points last year and 10 points this year, while McElwee had six points last year and 15 points this year. LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior center Wayne Strachan has a five-game point-streak in which he has six goals and one assist for seven points. He has a point in 11 of his last 12 games (11-5--16) with four power play goals, a shorthanded goal, two game-winning goals and a plus/minus rating of plus 12. MIAMI UNIVERSITY -- Senior center Andrew Miller had two power play goals Saturday raising his season total to 12 breaking his three-year combined total of 11 (six as a freshman, one as a sophomore, and four as a junior). The school record for power play goals in a season is 17 set by Steve Morris in the 1981-82 season. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN -- Freshman goaltender Marty Turco earned the first complete game shutout of his career against Miami on Friday. He shared two shutouts with senior netminder Al Loges earlier in the season (October 14 against York University and December 29 against Michigan Tech in the GLI). MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY -- Freshman goaltender Chad Alban has an 8-2-0 record in 13 games this season with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .893 saves percentage. He has not allowed more than three goals in a game in 12 of his 13 appearances and has allowed two goals or less in seven of his 13 games. UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME -- Freshman goaltender Matt Eisler is 5-3 in his last eight appearances. allowing 22 goals and making 243 saves for a 2.76 goals- against average and a .917 saves percentage. He has made 40 or more saves three times during this stretch and has won each of these games. OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior left wing/defenseman Steve Richards has six points on two goals and four assists in his last five games. His 34 points, on 12 goals and 22 assists, is a career high for points in a season, eclipsing the 32 points on 10 goals and 22 assists he netted during his junior campaign. WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY -- Junior right wing Chris Brooks has 12 points on three goals and nine assists in his last seven games with four multiple-point games and a plus/minus rating of plus seven. Brooks has 45 points this season, he had 49 last year and 46 as a freshman and needs one point to tie Steve Smith (1974-78) for 20th place on the Bronco all-time scoring list. UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS -- Senior right wing Corey Spring has seven points on six goals and one assist in his last three games with a plus/minus rating of plus five. He is leading the Nanooks in scoring with 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points. On the season, Spring has eight multiple-point games including two three-point games and one four-point game. CCHA - DID YOU KNOW? -- That this years freshmen goaltenders (John Grahame, LSSU; Marty Turco, Michigan; Chad Alban, MSU; Jeff Blashill, FSU; Adam Lord, UIC; and Matt Eisler, Notre Dame) have made a large impact on the league. Both Alban and Eisler are eligible for this summers NHL entry draft, while Grahame (Boston) and Turco (Dallas) were drafted last summer.
