Wednesday, March 29, 1995 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PAT MIKESCH NAMED CAPTAIN OF 1995-96 MTU HOCKEY TEAM Jason Wright and Kyle Peterson Selected As Alternate Captains Houghton, Mich. -- Pat Mikesch, who has been the Michigan Tech hockey team's leading point getter the past two seasons, has been named captain of the 1995-96 MTU hockey team it was announced today by MTU head coach Bob Mancini. Mancini also named defenseman Jason Wright and forward Kyle Peterson as alternate captains of the '95-96 squad. "I look forward with great anticipation to next year," said Mancini, who has completed three seasons as the ice boss of the Huskies. "Pat Mikesch has proved to have all the qualities that a good captain needs to possess and I believe he will do a great job in following in Brent Peterson's footsteps as an outstanding leader for the Huskies. "In addition to Pat, I think that Jason Wright and Kyle Peterson will help make up as fine a trio of leadership as there will be in the WCHA next year." Mikesch, a senior next season, finished the '94-95 campaign with 15-28--43 and will begin his final year 10th all-time at MTU in career assists with 90. He was an All-WCHA Second Team selection as selected by the league's players. Wright, a three-year regular on the blueline for MTU, will play his final season in an MTU uniform next season, while Peterson will enter his junior campaign in '95-96.
