There is no doubt that Clarkson played one of its best games of the season last night. The powerplay passing was crisp, fast, and patient. Brown was rushed all night, never settling into any specific style of play. After the end of the first period, up 3-0, the Knights were unstoppable. It could have easily been 2-2 at the end of the first period. After all,"How many times does a goalie lose his helmet?" The call looked awfully close, and I have never ever trusted Gallagher and Ammian. Ammian signaled for the goal, the red light went on, and Ammian went to the glass to give the numbers on the goal. Gallagher (out by center ice) waved off the goal, and stopped Ammian from giving the numbers. There was relatively little protest by Coach Gaudet, so I'll shut up too. But I do believe that it was a serious "momentum killer" for Brown. Rookie goalie Dan Murphy was great last night. I hated him. He made some great saves, but put revounds right into the low slot. If he were not supported by some great checking defensemen, his GAA would be quite high. Bruno never popped in a rebound. I have all the respect in the world for Clarkson, but they are not 8 goals better than Brown. I hope these two teams have a chance to square off again in Lake Placid. I'll be looking forward to that. First Second Third Total Clarkson: 3 4 3 10 Brown: 1 1 0 2 --> Brown Goalie Mike Parson left the game just about 7:00 into the second period (after 6 goals for the Knights) for freshman goalie Jeff Holowaty. Holowaty played great considering he's had one period of ECAC play had virtually no defensive help in front of the cage. --> Brown squares off against St. Lawrence tonight. I hope the seniors will finish regular season with a win at home on "Banner Night." Martin Small Brown Daily Herald
