To add to what Jack Berenzweig said about Mr. Addesa: I have had the pleasure to meet and watch this fine coach put his philosophy to the test and it has worked. I witnessed Mr. Addesa last X-Mas at an ALL-STAR tourney at the Mullins Center where he led a Prep School All Star team to an almost victory (5-3) over a junior team from Quebec. These US kids had never played together before but they came together under Addesa and nearly beat the Quebec team which had been skating together for 5 or 6 months (many most of their lives). It takes more than a good coach to do something like that in two days with no practice. Another note to realize would be the assistants that fell under him at RPI,I believe they were Rick Gotkin (Mercyhurst College, lead them to D II finals this year), Jim Peters (Vermont Academy, basically built a very strong prep school program whose schedule and record speaks for itself), and Francis LaChappelle (St. Bonaventure Univ., before the program was axed, he had just gotten a very solid recruiting class in to sort of stabilize the program when it got cut).It takes one hell of a mentor to break an assistant coach into a top notch head coach which Mike has done with the three above. I wish Mike the best of luck and I hope he does apply for the job and gets what he deserves...another shot a building a champion. nathan bennett #4 West Virginia U/Back at St. Bonaventure next season
