I like the one ref system as well.  I caught 10 WCHA games this year and
I'll be honest - The officiating wasn't very good.  I think the 2 ref
system should not be in place because: When you have 2 refs- you
get 2 different perspectives of the game and 2 different opinions of a
penalty.  The 1 ref system allows the ref to let players control the
outcome of the game. He will call penalties the way the game is going-
trying to even them out (if possible). The 2 ref system puts the outcome
of the game back in the refs hands.  You have 2 refs calling 2 different
games- and the result is a lot of penalties and a boring game or a bunch
of penalties for one team and hardly any for the other.
 
The only good thing I see- in the 2 ref system is the fact that obvious
penalties aren't missed.
 
But the negatives outway the positives--1 ref system is better.
I've played with both systems and really prefer the 1 ref.
