The Golden Knights of Clarkson proved their abilities in a solid victory over the Brown Bears (yet another reason to officially go back to "Bruins"). The game was pretty much a nightmare for Brown as Clarkson jumped out to a 3-0 lead, doing what Brown could not do...convert SOG into actual goals. The Clarkson goalie gave up a lot of rebounds, but the Clarkson defense kept Brown players from moving in. I have nothing but respect for Clarkson now that I saw them play. Their passes were crisp and they moved at a quick pace. Brown just did not have what it takes this evening. The defense was almost non-existent which left Parsons subject to his own personal nightmare. Hopefully, Bruno can come out tomorrow night against SLU and take back 2nd place. I still think Brown has the players necessary to play into the post- season, but they'll just have to prove it in the ECAC tourney. A word on the refs...horrible. Not an excuse for osing the game, but they blew many calls and were very inconsistent. I do have a question...how often does a goalie lose his helmet? A Brown goal was disallowed for such a reason...pretty dumb. While spending the third period talking and basically watching Clarkson play some nice hockey, I remembered hearing at least 3 *PING*s as the puck hit the post...the score could have been much worse...and this game could have easily been something like 12-8. Only one team showed up to play tonight. This obviously seems jumbled, but so is my head...frustrated, angry, upset...Oh well...we can pay 'em back in Lake Placid, right? Adios... LER3 Go Bruno! Go Gophers!
