A few musings after watching an exciting weekend of hockey in Boston Garden, and eagerly awaiting what I think will be even *greater* hockey at the Centrum this weekend. On last night's selection show, Doug Woog noted that there are 4 "Big Ten" teams in Madison this coming weekend for the West regionals. Hmm, I wonder if the Big Ten will be the Big Zero by Sunday morning, just like in the NC$$ basketball tournament? ;-) "Glenn W. I'm sure he was smiling, and I'm glad the Tigers gave Hobey something to smile about, because I'm sure that he was *not* smiling when he saw Greg Bullock's name on the list of Hobey Baker award nominees, particularly after his disgraceful (4 minors, 1 major, and 2 misconducts) performance in this past weekend's Hockey East playoffs at the Garden. I have always thought that this award is as much about character (as exemplified by the man after whom it is named) as it is about numbers, but I guess I was wrong. Wouldn't Chad Quenneville have been a more worthy nominee than Mr. Bullock? Or maybe (bleeding UNH blue and white) Eric Flinton? As for Mr. Bullock's early shower, my respect for Bruce Crowder (UNH "79, instrumental in UNH's *only* league championship) grew, if that was possible. Speaking of the aforementioned Chad Quenneville: "Cheryl A. Morris" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: >Aside: what a shame Chad Quenneville doesn't get a >chance to play in the NC$$'s.
