Minnesota beat both MSU and Michigan; Wisconsin lost to both of them.

The difference between finishing first and third in the tournament is
just 1 win. Not much difference over a 36+ game season.

Minnesota only finished only 1 point behind Wisconsin in the league standings.

Minnesota also had the tougher LEAGUE schedule (it ain't balanced, you know).
Minnesota only played #9 NMU and UAA twice; Wisconsin got to skip two games
with UAA as well, but also only had to play RS champ Colorado College twice.
I can easily see how Minnesota might get two more points vs. NMU than Wisconsin
would get againt CC, if they were to balance out the schedules.

Terms like "2nd place" and "3rd place" do not have any meaning to the
selection process. And rightly so, IMHO.

Wisconsin is playing in their own barn! I do not see how they can complain
about anything.
