Since bands seem to be on the list a lot lately: Do all college hockey pep bands start playing as soon as an OPPONENT scores? Ours does, and I find it kind of annoying. It almost seems as if we're helping the opposition celebrate. I suppose the idea actually is to fire up the home team for a renewed effort, kind of like in football you hear "Everyone up for the kickoff!" regardless of who scored last. But . . . at Lakeview Arena the NMU band launches its number IMMMEDIATELY after the opponent scores, not when the faceoff, signallying the start of another "round," is about to take place. Just curious. (What else can you contribute when your team has suddenly disappeared?? Groan!) ********************************************************************** * Steve Christopher, NMU [log in to unmask] GO 'CATS!!! * **********************************************************************
