UNH defeated Brown 7-2 Tuesday night in a non-conference game at Brown's Meehan Auditorium. The information below is from today's Boston Globe: UNH (17-6-3) 3 3 1 7 Brown (10-5-2) 1 1 0 2 Saves UNH:Cavicchi 20; Brown: Parsons 17, Holowaty 4 Scoring summary: FIRST: NH Russell (Royal, Schmidtke) 0:48 NH Nickulas (Sullivan, Muir) 15:13 B Smitko (Trach, Jardine) 16:07 NH Gagnon (Royal, Muir) 19:22 SECOND: NH Poole (Boguniecki, Schmidtke) 6:10 B Mulhern (Trach, Humber) 10:19 NH Sullivan (Hall, Poole) 14:54 NH Poole (Sullivan, Nickulas) 16:42 THIRD: NH Boguniecki (Sullivan, Muir) 4:39 My comments: This was a good win for the Wildcats against a nonconference opponent who, until recently, has been ranked in the top 10 most of the season. This was a game that could easily have been lost, particularly coming on the heels of a disappointing UNH performance last Saturday against BU. I'm sure Dick Umile impressed upon his team the importance of this game in light of the power ratings. Note: UNH finishes the regular season 6-1 against the ECAC, with wins over St. Lawrence, Clarkson (twice), Colgate, Harvard, and Brown. The only loss was to Vermont in the season opener. Also good to see 7 goals scored by players not on the first line. If the 'Cats can get consistent scoring from the second and third lines down the stretch, watch out! Karen Ambrose, UNH '72 Go Blue!
