BAUER/CCHA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anson Carter, a junior center from Michigan State University, has been selected the Bauer/CCHA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance the weekend of February 24-25, 1995. He played junior hockey for the Wexford (Ontario) Raiders and was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1992 National Hockey League entry draft. Carter, a 6-1, 175-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, had four points (three goals and one assist) in Michigan State's two victories over the weekend. In Friday's 4-1 win over Notre Dame, Carter scored the game-winning goal. In Saturday's 6-1 victory at Ferris State, he added two goals, including the game- winner and an assist. COOPER/CCHA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chad Ackerman, a junior defenseman from Bowling Green State University, has been selected the Cooper/CCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the weekend of February 24-25, 1995. He played junior hockey for the Des Moines (Iowa) Buccaneers of the USHL. Ackerman, a 5-8, 190-pound native of Rochester, Michigan, anchored the Bowling Green defense in their weekend sweep of Ohio State as they killed 17 of 18 Buckeye power play opportunities. Ackerman pitched in four points on the weekend with one goal and three assists. For the season, Ackerman has a plus/minus rating of plus 26.
