i admittedly have not read every post regarding hobey baker award
thoughts/concerns... but i think three players have apparently
been grossly under-recognized:

e bullock, umass-lowell
b allison, maine
m turco, michigan

maybe hobey goalies are about as common as al or nl mvp pitchers,
but allison and turco seem to be the rock-solid foundations upon
which maine and michigan have built fabulous seasons. i only saw
allison once this year (the first game against bu back in the 2nd
or 3rd weekend of the season)... but his gaa is superb, his save%
is quite good, and his w-l record is incredible. turco has
comparable stats and is quite an accomplished puck handler.
however... as well as allison and turco are playing, maine and
michigan might not suffer all that much with their back-ups
manning the pipes instead.

bgsu hockey-l'ers have stated that the falcons would still be a
pretty good team without brian holzinger. but how good would
umass-lowell be without bullock? how many goals would bullock
have scored if he was playing for the wolverines this year?!! if
i was your average joe fan at umass-amherst, bullock and m grier
would be the only 2 HE players i'd pay $$$ to go see.

it's a shame harvard's s martins isn't having as good a season
as many would have hoped or expected. it seems that he has had
to carry the crimson all by himself this year, and that burden
has completely worn him down. does anyone know which nhl team
has martins' rights?
