Two items of interest through the magazine rack: 1. The January 30, 1995 edition of Sports Illustrated, in the Faces in the Crowd section, Michigan State players Anson Carter, a junior center, and Steve Guolla, a senior left wing, were honored for their efforts in a 9-4 win again Cornell. Carter had 3 goals and 2 assists while Guolla had 1 goal, 3 assists. Both players are from Scarborough, Ontario. 2. In College Sports, the March 1995 edition, in the "Where Are They Now" feature, Brendan Healey did a piece on Jim Craig, the goalie on the 1980 US "Miracle on Ice" Olympic hockey team and Boston University's 1978 NCAA Championship team. The article described the events that led to Boston University's 1978 NCAA Championship, the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics experience in winning the gold, and Craig's NHL career. Craig is currently an account executive in charge of a regional office in Boston for Michigan based Valassis Communications and also is a volunteer coach for Northeastern working with the goaltenders.
