Colorado College came from behind tonight to beat Northern Michigan 5-3.
Northern got one goal fairly early in the game (can't remember who scored),
and then Riplinger added another for a 2-0 Wildcat lead at the end of one.
CC slept through most of that period, not playing very well.
The Tigers apparently got a wake-up call in the locker room, because 47
seconds into the next period, Jay McNeill scored a power play goal. At
2:05, McNeill struck again, I think also a power play goal, to tie up the
game. The game stayed that way until 6 seconds left in the period when
McCusker put one in for Northern to regain the lead.
It was starting to look bad for CC, but there was still one period left.
Another top-10 scorer began to show his stuff, and Peter Geronazzo got a
pair of goals to even things up and then give the Tigers their first lead
of the game. There was still 5 1/2 minutes left in the game, but CC played
well. Northern pulled Kochan with about a minute left, but the tables got
turned, as R.J. Enga stole the puck and put in an empty-netter with 30
seconds left to seal the win.
Same two teams tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it won't snow too much here
overnight! :)
