Princeton defeated St Lawrence friday night, 5-2. Jonathon Kelly had two goals for the Tigers, and James Konte got the win in goal. Princeton controlled most of the first two periods; they held a 4-0 lead until late in the second when St Lawrence scored a power play goal. The Saints scored again early in the third, and then put a lot of pressure on Konte for several minutes, but were unable to score. Mike Bois scored an insurance goal at 18:15 of third to put the game away for Princeton. This game was a penalty-filled contest. There were numerous matching minors in the second, and a 5 minute major to Mike Bois also. St Lawrence seemed plagued by dumb penalties tonight. Several times they killed their own power play by getting a penalty. During Mike Bois' 5 minute major, St Lawrence had less than a minute of actual man-advantage play. Near the end of the game, two tigers got 10 minute penalties, and one St Lawrence player (#4, I believe) got a game misconduct for an altercation behind the St Lawrence net. Overall, the Tigers played well. The only negatives were the penalties and a few two on one breakaways that they could not take advantage of. The defense was solid for most of the game, and the offense produced when it needed to. Chris Dietrich Princeton U.
