Soem time ago when the World Junior Championships were held in Alaska, one of
our CCHA referees (Steve Piotrowski) was working a game against Canada and
Russia (I believe) when late in the third period one puck ended up in the net
(apparent tying goal) while another puck was in the corner.

A Russian player who had been serving a penalty, put a puck in his pants
figuring he would go straight to the bench when the penalty was over, but he
stayed on the ice and the puck came out.

A couple of years ago the same referee (Piotrowski) was working a CCHA game at
Michigan State when a puck was shot up in the net at the Zamboni end at Munn
Arena and everybody figured the puck was gone. A few minutes later MSU goalie
Mike Gilmore notices a puck on the back of the net and alerts Piotrowski.
Apparently a youngster tried to get the puck but knocked it back into the
playing area.
