skating most of the third period down 6-5 or worse, colorado college squandered leads of 3-0, 4-1 and later 5-2 to lose to minnesota duluth who scored 5 times in the third for the come from behind game. The tigers, if they plan to have a presence at the end of the year, have to learn to win despite a level of officiating more on the caliber of club hockey than college level officiating. The tigers are, IMHO, talented enough that they can win depsite the type of officiating they received. They let the officials take the momentum away from them. Minnesota Duluth put on a solid effort and desere great credit for taking advantage of their opportunities and never giving up despite third period 3 goal deficits to a highly ranked opponent in their second game in under 20 hours at the high altitude of colorado. CC got out to the early lead, and seemed to be on cruise controll, almost putting the crowd to sleep, as well, apparently, as themselves. For a while, it appeared that the only issue was wheyher judd lambert would get his shutout. The crowd came to life briefly when the gap was closed to 1, and again when the bulldogs tied it, but CC was unable to come back to life. They had good effort after falling behind 6-5, but the officials, who had been calling even the most niggling incidental contact against CC decided to swallow their whistles for the last few minutes. Karen was at the game, and should be posting a detailed summary. charlie shub [log in to unmask] -or- cdash@colospgs (BITNET) (719) 593 3492 (fax) 593-3369
