Just wanted to give a few observations on Brown v. Clarkson. Box: CU 3 2 2 = 7 Brown 2 0 2 = 4 The Golden Knights have been extremely impressive since their early season slump on weekends against W. Michigan and RPI/Union. The game against Brown at Cheel Arena was wonderful game to watch. The Clarkson offence was able to move the puck into the Brown zone with great speed as everyone seemed to be making their passes and connecting with each other extremely well. The Knights have, against Brown and SLU, put together high scoring games where each goal was scored by a separate player. This offence is really firing on all cylinders. Defensively, they are really doing a great job on 1. taking the body on the opponents' offence and 2. getting in between the shooter and Murphy. Cutting off most opportunities in their own zone, the Knights are giving the freshman goalie a chance to mature and improve. And Murphy was looking well against Brown in the second and third periods. Murphy made several very nice saves including a couple rebounded second attempts by the Bruins. The last two goals in the 3rd by Brown were: 1. a 5 on 3 power play and 2. a really nice move by a Brown player cutting from the right side of Murphy where everbody had bunched up to Murphy's left side. Murphy, thinking he had little time, made a dash to the left lower side of the net, was scored on by a patient Brown player who shot over the goalie. Over all, the Knights were in charge of this game from early on. The goalie (#1) for Brown (is it Parsons?????) was not looking good through the first two periods. He had a very difficult time finding where his rebounds were going and this resulted in a goal for C.U. and a couple of other good chances... Dan
