CC beat minnesota duluth tonight. I thought karen would do her usual excellent job tonight, so i didn't take notes CC 1 3 2 6 UMD 2 1 0 3 Duluth took the lead on what appeared to be a CC defensive lapse (I was at the far end down low) to take the lead, but jason christopherson (i think) got the equalizer less than a minute later. Things didn't go CC's way late in the period as duluth took the lead with under a minute left and CC got a penalty a bit later. CC came out in the second, and steward bodker took the puck behind the duluth net and centered to chad remakel who banged it home for the short handed tally to even the score. Duluth was able to to capitolize on the carry over penalty to retake the lead on a power play goal shortly thereafter. The remaining CC goals were both blue collar goals. in the third, it was gerronazzo opening the lead to 2, and jay mcneil got the final tally. the crowd was scared when the duluth netminder took a shot in the mask that knocked his mask off and he appeard to be unconscious on the ice for a few minutes. todd gow (who had the break off to referee at a bantam tourney in denver) did his usual competent job on the lines. The wearers of the red stripes were thomas and bocce. As distressed as i might have been with bocce's officiating last week at the denver cup, in retrospect it appears as if he had good (for him) games up there. Thomas was unremarkable, yet by far the better of the two this evening. Finally, i also taped the denver game and watched the controversial goal call in single step, and i think i might have seen the puck bounce behind the line, but i'm not certain. This was from out front, and I could see the line between mullin's skates, and thought the puck hit behind it. From the camera in the corner, i just couldn't tell, although the full speed replay made it look like the puck was not in. charlie shub [log in to unmask] -or- cdash@colospgs (BITNET) (719) 593 3492 (fax) 593-3369
