Randy asked for any info about the PC women. Here's the best I can do on short notice (details related to me by two Brown players... I didn't see either game myself): As usual, we have two very good women's teams right here in Providence. The Brown women are still undefeated at 12-0-2 (9-0-1 ECAC) and have beaten PC twice. The first time, back in December PC played the Pandas evenly, but did not get much in the way of goaltending, losing 6-1. This week, Brown went crosstown to Schneider Arena, and this time the PC women outskated and outshot the Pandas. Unfortunately, they still didn't get much goaltending. Although I was not at the game, the story was that Brown collapsed on defense much of the game, forcing PC to take weak shots from outside which the Brown goalie easily turned aside (31 saves). Then, every now and then, Brown's sensational line of Kellar, King (4 goals) and Gorton would break out and confront the PC goalie (Smith) with a 3 on 2 or 3 on 1. Brown won the game 5-4, scoring those 5 goals against just 13 PC saves. PC is currently 8-8-4, 7-3-0 ECAC Box: 1sp Period: B: King (Kellar, Spruell) 3:54 2nd Period: PC: Carlson (McCabe) :53 B: King (Kellar, Hopkins) 2:49 PC: Carlson (Brophy, Wheeler) 16:00 3rd Period: B: King (Kellar, Gorton) 2:50 B: King (Hopkins, Spruell) 4:09 PC: O'Sullivan (Blahoski) 4:57 B: Gorton (Woog) 8:28 PC: Wagner (Blahoski) 9:41 Amy Carlson was spectacular for PC, scoring 2 goals and putting many more tough shots on the Brown goal. General feelings among the Brown women: They were lucky to get out of the game alive, and don't look forward to playing PC again. This was an inspired effort by the Lady Friars.
