I've read a lot about the nationalities "issue" recently and want to throw in my 2 cents worth (1.4 canadian :)... at the risk of get chasitised by Wayne (sorry W.). After reading so much similar sanitation on rec.sport.hockey, I figured that H-L would be a sanctuary from all that. I don't care about what country the players come from. As far as I'm concerned, it's TOTALLY irrelevant (unless I went to high school with them... BTW- Go Rob Merrill!). The number of Quebecers on Clarkson's squad is only slightly less than the # of New Yorkers. I don't root for the Quebecers or the BC'er or the Finn any less than the New Yorkers or the Pennsylvanain. When the hit the ice, when they put on that green and gold jersey, they all Golden Knights of equal standing. I root for Mueller (Liverpool, NY). I root for Dan Murphy (Nanaimo, BC). I root for Lecavalier (Ile Bizzard, Quebec). Why? Because they're all Clarkson Golden Knight hockey players. They are no less a Golden Knight because they came from another state or another country. Could we please stop this nonsense? If your liking of a player is dependent on what nationality that player is, then I'd say you're pretty superficial. --- Bri Farenell [log in to unmask] Clarkson '95/Glens Falls HS '91 Adirondack Red Wings, IFK Goteborg, SS Napoli, Major Lg.
