[I tried to post this last night, but apparently it didn't get out...
 so here goes...ace!]
The third-ranked team in the nation in the ACHA's Division II got off to
a quick start tonight and never looked back, as Indiana (9-2, 5-0
MCHL) crushed Dayton 8-1 at the Frank Southern Center tonight.

Captain Bryan Lore intercepted a UD pass at the top of the slot and
gunned it under the crossbar only :27 into the game and IU led 1-0. Lore
would finish the night with a hat trick.

It took six minutes for IU to build a 2-0 lead, but they did when
defenseman Geoff Heddle redirected a Chris Quimby pass into the top right
corner past UD goalie Jordan Garwood.

The Hoosiers put the game away in a :59 flurry late in the period that
included goals from Lore and Quimby. End of 1--Indiana 4, Dayton 0

Garwood stayed in net for the second period, and IU took a while to get
the motor going, but the fat lady started singing when UD took a penalty
six minutes in, and IU capitalized exactly :13 later on boomer from Lore
for the hat trick. Lore scored :35 later to put IU up 6-0.

After UD's Bryan Doherty broke up Alex Kyrias' shutout bid with a goal,
IU struck back with a pair fo goals from Ryan McMahon.

The backups showed up in the third period in the nets, but they turned
in a pair of good performances in the mop-up role. The period was
chippy, and had some good chances, but no scoring.

IU will next be in action tomorrow night when they host Dayton at 6:15.
