I just have a few comments about this: 1st: RPI Students and the local media do put pressure on the players There are time when the RPI team has actually been booed by its own fans (RPI vs UNH 93-94 Season) I have also heard many comments form the fans 1 for example: I'd rather be doing LUMPS (a hate engineering course at RPI) Not that I have never made some of them ( I cannot take credit for that one) The media covers the Engineers quite often and also may give them just as much exposure in the area as a regular season pro-event(depending on how much is happening). I am from Boston where the atmosphere is very simial When the team wins, they are the best. But when they lose, they are bums you might as well count them out. Many people at RPI do talk that way. And if you do not think that the players pay attention to that, then take another look. There are RPI players who are scratched or injured sitting in the back of section 16 near the press box. They can hear what you say. The parents of the players also do. This can become stressful for someone in the public(local public) eye. This would add a great deal of pressure for anyone. I admit that I am guity of it and probably will be guilty again and so will many of my friends, that is life as a public figure 2nd:RPI is an elitist group, Tom something or another said this. I just want to know where he came up with this. Yes RPI students are sometimes tough to undersatand or deal with. It is alsonot the worst place to go. I can name about 5 or 6 other hockey fans which are more problemmatic than RPI's of course I will keep my comments to myself. But elitist how? why? What evidence do you have?
