The team's defensive style probably depends on the
size and how physical the team can be. A stand-em-up
style of play take a lot out of a player and is difficult to
sustain for the length of the game without lapsing
towards the end.

I know that RPI who has a smaller, speedier team
plays a let 'em in style of defense. The D usually
rides the players into the corner and then it's dig-it-out
in the corner hockey, not exactly an RPI string point.

Union plays a similar style. Clog the neutral zone first
and grind it out in the corner later.

Last year at the ECAC championship game where Harvard
blanked RPI, Harvard played a VERY effective stand-em-game
against the Engineers. I haven't seen Harvard yet this year
so I can't comment on whether they have continued this style.
