Any refs out there might like to toy with this one: Team A is in the
attacking zone. Player A1 is cross-checked in a corner by player B1 and
the result is a two minute minor. The penalty is called at the five
minute mark of the second period. The face-off is held to the right of
the Team B net. (the puck was in the attacking zone...blah, blah) The
scorekeeper has a question about the penalty and therefore decides to
blow the horn AFTER the puck has been dropped. Player A1 (he's pretty
fiesty isn't he?) drops the face-off back to his defense- man player A2
who shoots the puck on net. During progress of the puck, the horn
sounds...the puck goes in the net. Now the question is, goal or no
goal...and back your statement up with USA hockey amateur rules. When
you get the answer, let me know how long it took to find your ruling.-S.
